Combination Therapy Monitoring
Combination therapy refers to the simultaneous
administration of two or more medications to treat a single
disease or when multiple therapies are used at the same
time.
With combination therapy, the TIMING of delivery
is a critical component and so measures must be taken to
validate your data before entering results into your
system. The software contains 'smart', error-trapping
code (based on your business rules), that allow you to define
the criteria for your combination data capture.
For example, on a single form we track:
- multiple drug therapies
- different visit dates & timing of delivery
- individual dosing measures
- standard therapy deviations
... and with intuitive 'filtering' the system can decide
up-front if a patient qualifies for your study, based on the
timing of visits and delivered therapies.
And based on the input of your 'rapid collection" team you
can:
- track timing of delivery
- see the impact of different dosage levels
- observe changes and treatment trends
- deliver accurate reporting
- key-in on outcome measurements and adverse events
Combination therapy may seem costlier than monotherapies in
the short term - but have significant long term
gains such as: lower treatment failure
rate, lower case-fatality ratios, slower development of
resistance and consequently, less money needed for the
development of new drugs.
